One of the brands I remember most from my childhood is the airline Pan Am. Its full name being Pan American World Airways. The super effective logo depicting a globe with the short name printed on it is legendary.

The company behind the logo lived for 64 years from 1927 to 1991. The iconic Pan Am Building is still part of the Manhattan skyline and is now known as the MetLife Building.

Sometimes you may feel that brands and design etc used to be of higher quality back then. But I am pretty sure that the distance in time is making that up for us. Some of todays brands will surely be seen as epic in the distant future. The facebook f perhaps - sad bat who knows?
